It doesn’t mean that Tamim will come in to score tomorrow, as well. So you never know what’s going to happen.”Bangladesh are yet to see in this tournament how their batting fares if Tamim fails to post a significant score, although even with his contributions, the middle and lower order has not offered much beyond Mushfiqur Rahim’s 79 against England. In that match, they struggled to accelerate during the closing overs while in the Australia game they collapsed from 122 for 3 to 182 all out after the dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan. But Mashrafe said that Bangladesh’s batting depth should not be disregarded on the basis of their recent performances.”Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur and Shakib are players who can change the course of a game. We can win from a really bad situation if they are around. I am hoping that they will rise on the big situation, which is coming up tomorrow.”Everyone is excited. Newcastle United have reportedly hit a "stalemate" in their pursuit of impressive Southampton youngster Valentino Livramento this summer.

Are Newcastle signing Livramento?

The £8,000-a-week right-back has been considered a strong transfer target for the Magpies in the current transfer window, having impressed for Saints since arriving from Chelsea in 2021.

Unfortunately, Livramento's 2022/23 season was ruined by a cruciate ligament injury, limiting him to just 26 minutes of Premier League action, but he was a regular before that point, making 34 appearances for the south coast club.

While it has looked likely that the Southampton starlet will end up at St James' Park this summer, coming in as competition for Kieran Trippier, a negative update has emerged.

What's the latest on Livramento to Newcastle?

According to The Telegraph's Luke Edwards, talks have stalled over Newcastle's interest in Livramento because of PIF's tactics of trying to under-sell their budget, throwing doubt over a summer move to St James' Park:

"The situation is complicated by the fact Newcastle have shown they can be deceptive when talking about the size of their budgets, as well as the identity of their targets, but they have more pressing priorities this summer than signing a right back to compete with captain Kieran Trippier.

"Sources at St James’ Park have repeatedly stressed that the asking prices have been “astronomically high” so far this summer and they do not have a huge amount of money to spend."

This is a frustrating update, with Livramento a very exciting young player with a high ceiling, once being hailed as a player with that special "aura" about them by Theo Walcott.

The hope is that this is simply nothing more than a blip in terms of negotiations, and that a compromise can be met, ensuring Newcastle acquire services of a gifted English player – one who has won five caps for England's Under-21s to date.

Granted, there can be reservations over any player who has suffered such a serious knee injury, but given the age and the advancement in how fitness setbacks are overcome nowadays, Livramento should return as good as ever, hopefully coming as Trippier's long-term replacement and successor at right-back.

Like with any managerial change, the arrival of Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur has offered the potential of a fresh start for those at N17, with there a chance for all members of the first-team squad to stake their claim for a regular role under the new regime.

According to reports in France, one man whom the new boss could look to bring in from out in the cold is £63m man, Tanguy Ndombele, with the mercurial Frenchman having spent the last 18 months on loan at Lyon and Napoli, respectively.

As per L'Equipe, (via Sports Witness) the belief is that Postecoglou instructed the Lilywhites to reject a €20m (£17m) offer from the Serie A champions for the midfielder, with the 57-year-old potentially set to find a space for the 5 foot 11 ace in his side next term having been a 'long-time admirer' of the playmaker.

With Ndombele now back in pre-season, the 26-year-old has the chance to showcase why he deserves to be handed a show of faith from the ex-Celtic boss, albeit with it yet to be seen if the seven-cap international warrants another chance to impress in north London, following his minimal impact over the last four years.

As pundit Darren Bent previously stated, "it's just not worked out" for the £200k-per-week asset in a Spurs shirt to date, hence why it could be a bold call for Postecoglou to give him yet another opportunity ahead of next season.

Perhaps instead of looking to Ndombele as a midfield solution in his 4-3-3 formation next term, the one-time Australian head coach could instead look to the transfer market in order to find a better alternative, with Hoops star Reo Hatate a player whom the experienced tactician is certainly familiar with.

As per a previous report from the Daily Mail, the Japanese international is believed to be being monitored by Spurs ahead of a possible summer move, with the 25-year-old having sparkled under Postecoglou at Parkhead over the last 18 months or so.

There may be a case to make that rather than taking a gamble on Ndombele, the Greek-Aussie could recruit a player who has already blossomed under his tutelage…

Who is Reo Hatate?

Described as the "Japanese Luka Modric" by one Athletic employee, Hatate has been a standout figure for the Old Firm outfit since signing on a £1.4m deal back in January 2022, having scored 13 goals and laid on 14 assists in 66 games in all competitions – a better record than Ndombele has enjoyed at Spurs (nine goals and ten assists in 91 games).

Lauded as a "beast" in the centre of the park by journalist Sacha Pisani, the 5 foot 8 maestro has caught the eye due to his all-action and tireless displays for the Scottish champions, with pundit Alan Hutton praising the £12k-per-week man as a player who is "everywhere" on the pitch.

The same can seemingly not be said of Ndombele, however, with the fleet-footed enigma having been described as a "disgrace" in the past by Sky Sports' Jamie Carragher due to his lack of effort off the ball.

In Serie A last term, the Frenchman notably averaged just 0.7 tackles and interceptions per game from his 30 league outings, while also laying on just one goal contribution, while Hatate, by contrast, was far more impressive at both ends of the pitch, having averaged 1.8 tackles and interceptions per game from his 32 Scottish Premiership appearances, while contributing 14 goals and assists.

While it may not be easy for the latter man to replicate that form in the Premier League, it may be worth the risk for a player whom Postecoglou knows all about, rather than potentially making an ill-judged decision to rely on a player who has largely been unreliable in north London to date, in the form of Ndombele.

وأكمل: “إذا كان هناك جهاز فني آخر ربما يرفض التواجد في البطولة بسبب قوتها؛ ولكني واثق من تحقيق استفادة كبيرة جدًا، المهم بالنسبة لي خلق الانسجام بين اللاعبين أو بين أفكار الجهاز الفني واللاعبين مع إن عدد الوحدات التدريبية كانت قليلة قبل البطولة”.

وأضاف: “أهدافي من البطولة، وصول اللاعبين لدرجة عالية من الانسجام مع تحقيق نتائج إيجابية في البطولة وتغيير شكل وأداء المنتخب في الملعب، أتمنى أن تشعر الجماهير بتحسن أداء المنتخب من الناحية الخططية”.

وزاد: “النتائج بالنسبة لي هامة جدًا حتى في الحصص التدريبية، أنا واثق أننا سنستفيد من البطولة فنيًا، وأتمنى كذلك تحقيق نتائج جيدة من أجل الجماهير”.

وقال حسام حسن عن مواجهة نيوزيلندا: “فريق قوي جدًا ومنظم، ولديه لاعبين مميزين، منتخب لديه لاعبين كثيرين محترفين في أوروبا، جيدين جدًا في الكرات الثابتة وطريقة لعبهم أشبه بمنتخب بوركينا فاسو وعلى الجانب التكتيكي يطبقون الأسلوب الإنجليزي”.

 وواصل حسام حسن: “إصابة كوكا؟ عندما استدعيته من الأهلي قالوا لي إنه يعاني من كدمة في ظهره وما زال حتى اليوم يُعاني من هذه الإصابة”.

وقال حسام حسن عن استبعاد حسين الشحات من المعسكر: “اللاعب سليم، بحسب الفحوصات الطبية كان عنده تقلصات عضلية، وحرصًا مني على مشواره مع المنتخب والأهلي خلال الفترة المقبلة استبعده حتى يعالج بشكل جيد”.

بينما قال عن استدعاء مصطفى شلبي: “(كنت حطه في دماغي) مثل دونجا وأوفه مهاجم إنبي؛ ولذلك استدعيته، وعندما استدعيته وجدت أنه لم يتعاف من إصابته، وأحاول أن نعمل معه في الإطار البدني ومنذ يومين أصيب بالبرد؛ ولكني سعيد أنه متواجد معنا، لكنه ما زال يتعافى من الإصابة”.

وتحدث حسام حسن عن ما قاله للاعبين في التدريبات: “في محاضراتي معهم شرحت لهم أسلوب لعب يتبعه نيوزيلاندا مثل الذي يتبعه منتخب بوركينا فاسو، درسنا نيوزيلندا بشكل كبير جدًا، مميزين على مستوى الأجنحة، الظهير الأيسر لديهم يلعب في الدوري الإيطالي، أهم ميزة بالنسبة لهم الكرات الثابتة”.

وأضاف مدرب منتخب مصر: “تفاجأت برغبة اللاعبين المحترفين في الوصول للمعسكر والاشتياق للتألق مع منتخب مصر، الكبير يحب اللعب مع الكبار؛ ولذلك نحن نلعب هذه البطولة، هذا ما كنت أطبقه مع الأردن، لعبت أمام السنغال وزامبيا والإمارات والعديد من المنتخبات الكبيرة، حتى يتطور مستوى منتخب الأردن”.

وختم حسام حسن حديثه عن استبعاد أحمد فتوح: “الباب مفتوح أمام الجميع، مثله مثل محمد النني، معسكر مارس مجرد بداية للجهاز الفني،  فتوح لاعب جيد وهام؛ ولكن أدائه متذبذب مع الزمالك، اللاعب الجيد والذي سيصنع الفارق سأضمه للمنتخب ولكن هدفي أن أجعل كل اللاعبين يشتاقون للانضمام للمنتخب، ولا أحب أن يكون هناك لاعب يضمن مركزه”.

Manchester United have spoken to Mason Mount's camp over the last few days to confirm their interest in the player ahead of the summer window.

Will Chelsea sell Mason Mount?

The 24-year-old's future in west London is looking increasingly unlikely as the days roll on with his contract now winding down to its final year.

There is believed to be interest coming from across the Premier League in the England international this summer with the Red Devils up there among the most interested.

Indeed, it is thought Erik ten Hag's side are seriously interested in potentially bringing the midfielder to Old Trafford as they look to strengthen on what was an impressive 2022/23 campaign.

However, the Blues are said to have an extremely high valuation on their academy product despite his contract situation.

According to reports, Chelsea will be looking for a bid in the region of £68m to allow their 24-year-old midfielder to depart Stamford Bridge this summer.

And speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Red Devils have recently held further discussions with the player's camp to assure them of their intentions this summer:

"I can tell you that also in the last two-three days, Manchester United, in the contacts they had with the player side, they confirmed their intention to go for Mason [Mount]. They are not changing their mind.

"So they are confirming that they want him. They have a contract proposal ready. They know that Mason is prepared to say yes. So they kind of sent a positive message to Mason Mount."

Do Chelsea want to keep Mount?

The contract situation of the midfielder is far from ideal as he enters the final year of his time at the club which puts a lot of the power in his hands.

Yes, Chelsea will have the last say, however, they are at risk of potentially losing the player for nothing next summer if he is to stay and not sign a new deal.

But this is Chelsea. This is a club who have enormous financial backing behind them so perhaps they may be willing to take the gamble of keeping Mount ahead of next season.

Having said that, this is also Chelsea who have spent significantly under Todd Boehly's tenure and this does present an opportunity to reclaim some money this summer.

It has been reported their newly-appointed manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is keen to keep Mount around for the foreseeable future.

But the player was spotted walking around Stamford Bridge following their final game of the season against Newcastle United in what some have speculated to be a farewell.

With United seemingly so interested in bringing Mount to Stamford Bridge this summer, it is claimed the arrival of Pochettino may have come too late to persuade the £80k-per-week ace to stay.

رفض برشلونة العرض أيضًا، وصمم بايرن ميونخ على التعاقد وتدخل المدير الفني توماس توخيل لإقناع أراوخو بالتوقيع.

The wait goes on at Elland Road to see just who will be named as Leeds United’s next permanent manager, with the position currently vacant following the departure of Sam Allardyce following his short-term stint in charge.

The experienced Englishman had been the final man in charge amid what proved a wholly turbulent campaign for the Whites, with the Yorkshire side succumbing to relegation after seeing both Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia dismissed from the dugout.

With the newly-relegated side now preparing for life in the Championship next season, supporters will no doubt be keen to see a quick resolution to the club’s search for a new head coach, with a protracted pursuit likely to hamper any early transfer business.

According to Football Transfers, one man who is already in talks regarding the vacancy at Leeds is out-of-work boss Steven Gerrard, with the 43-year-old – who is also on the radar of Leicester City – having been without a job since being axed by Aston Villa back in October.

While that short stint in charge at Villa Park – in which the Englishman won just 13 of his 40 games at the helm – may have somewhat soured his reputation, the Liverpool legend’s previous success at Rangers should spark excitement among the Leeds faithful.

Should Leeds appoint Gerrard?

The former England international worked wonders during his first managerial post at Ibrox, having led the Old Firm giants to the Scottish Premiership title in the 2020/21 season following what was an “incredible season” for the club, according to pundit Alex McLeish.

That triumphant year saw the Gers go unbeaten throughout the entire league season, having ultimately finished 25 points clear of Celtic at the summit to end their rivals’ hopes of securing what would have been a historic tenth successive league title.

Having initially taken on the role in the summer of 2018, it evidently took time for the up-and-coming coach to truly make his mark in Glasgow, with that gradual build-up to success having been described as “kind of similar to Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool”, in the words of McLeish.

That likeness to the German tactician is showcased by the fact that the ex-Borussia Dortmund also took time to lead the Anfield outfit to glory, having won his first piece of silverware – the Champions League – in 2019, just under four years on from replacing Brendan Rodgers in the dugout.

The 55-year-old has also led the Merseysiders to a Premier League title and a handful of domestic honours since then, establishing himself as “head and shoulders above everyone” – alongside Pep Guardiola – due to his coaching prowess, according to pundit Jamie Redknapp.

It is interesting to note then that Gerrard – who, like Klopp, typically utilises a 4-3-3 formation – has been earmarked as a potential successor to the current Liverpool boss in future, with former teammate Djibril Cisse hailing him as a “great leader” and someone he would “love to see” take charge of the Reds.

As far as Leeds are concerned, the appointment of Gerrard may take time to pay dividends – as was the case at Rangers – although the 113-cap ace could potentially emulate the success of Klopp in becoming a successful, long-term figurehead at Elland Road.

Who is Michael Rosiak?

The right-back has caught the eye a great deal throughout the 2022/23 campaign, and even if his team were thrashed in the final a matter of days ago, it wasn’t enough to deter the club from handing him a professional contract.

The announcement of that came on Saturday, with the teenager more than earning that deal.

Over the course of this season, the 17-year-old has scored seven goals and assisted a further seven, with all but two of those involvements coming from right-back. That is a remarkable haul, but it speaks volumes of the quality he possesses.

Hailed as “fantastic” throughout Wilshere’s side’s run to the final by academy expert Jeorge Bird, it was no doubt a stunning free-kick in the semi-final against Manchester City that got supporters talking.

However, although that David Beckham-esque set piece will no doubt be the most eye-catching aspect of his game, it is his capability to play as a modern inverted full-back that will be most appealing to Mikel Arteta and co.

The Spaniard has helped to revolutionise that role on the pitch through his use of Oleksandr Zinchenko, a player who is fielded at left full-back, he drifts inside to accompany Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey as an extra man in midfield.

Although the Ukranian will often maraud down the left-hand side, his skillset means he can dictate games from deep and provide an extra layer of defence.

Coincidentally, Rosiak is also capable of playing in the middle of the park, something that has no doubt helped him to perform admirably in that inverted role. The academy prospect may well be young, but he already looks tailor-made to thrive in the ‘Zinchenko role’, albeit on the opposite side of the pitch.

Indeed, Goal’s Charles Watts noted during the semi-final that City were “struggling to pick up Rosiak when he drifts inside.”

That bodes well for his future and with a gap opening up on the right-hand side of defence in the absence of Takehiro Tomiyasu, the teen could well earn minutes next season.

Upon signing his new deal, the aforementioned Bird suggested that first-team training sessions could be forthcoming for Rosiak.
