The ECC’s European Development Manager, Ian Stuart, and the ECC Trophy Tournament Director, Richard Mockridge, visited a cold and snowy Vienna over the weekend of 7th-8th December in preparation for the forthcoming ECC Trophy, which will be held in Vienna and Lower Austria between 10th and 17th August 2003, and which provisionally is a 12 team tournament (at the time of writing), and is the most important tournament for ICC affiliate members in Europe, also serving as a qualifying tournament for the ECC European Championships. It was through finishing as runners up in the 2001 ECC Trophy that Austria qualified for the ECC European Championships in Northern Ireland.Ian and Richard also attended the ACA’s League Meeting, at which the formats of competitions for the 2003 season were finalised, before meeting the organising committee for the 2003 ECC Trophy. On the Sunday morning there was an inspection of the grounds that will be hosting the ECC Trophy, namely Vienna CC’s grounds in Seebarn, Lower Austria, and Concordia CC’s ground in Markommannenstrasse in the 22nd district of Vienna. The League Meeting also served as an opportunity to meet representatives of other clubs in Austria, as well as representatives from Ljubljana CC, who play in the Austrian League.

كما يعقد بيتسو موسيماني المدير الفني للأهلي محاضرة فيديو للاعبين مساء اليوم بفندق الإقامة بالمغرب قبل التحرك لخوض المران على ملعب الاتحاد الرياضي البيضاوي.

ويستعرض موسيماني خلال محاضرة الفيديو مع اللاعبين اليوم بعض النقاط الفنية التي يسعى للتركيز عليها في التدريبات؛ استعدادا لمباراة الوداد المغربي. 

كما حدد مدرب الأهلي برنامجا استشفائيا للاعبين؛ لتنفيذه اليوم أثناء المران الجماعي الأول للفريق.

واجتمع موسيماني مع الجهاز الفني للفريق صباح اليوم لتحديد تفاصيل البرنامج التدريبي الخاص باللاعبين.

ونسق المدير الفني مع مخطط الأحمال بهدف تقليل الحمل التدريبي للاعبين؛ تجنبا للإرهاق بعد رحلة السفر الطويلة لبعثة الأهلي إلى المغرب والتي استغرقت 6 ساعات.

ووصلت بعثة الأهلي برئاسة محمود الخطيب إلى المغرب في ساعة متأخرة من مساء أمس الأربعاء، بعد رحلة طيران استغرقت حوالي ٦ ساعات.

The Foxes reached an impressive 266 for seven in their 45 overs, with nobody other than Stevens even getting a half-century. In reply, the Dynamos had no answer, being bowled out for 181 in 40.2 overs.The only real support for Stevens in the Foxes’ innings came initially from Trevor Ward who compiled an uncharacteristically slow 33, taking 51 balls as he did so. Otherwise, it was not until another Darren – Maddy – joined him that Stevens was able to find a partner who did not encounter problems with conditions and the bowling. Maddy only hit one boundary in the 19-ball innings, but he managed to scamper 30 runs to be not out at the close.Stevens, whose name appears in the provisional list of 20 to attend the ECB National Academy next winter, demonstrated just why he would not be out of place in such company. He came to the crease when Iain Sutcliffe was out early on, and did not depart until there were 256 on the board. By that time he had done his job.It was up to the bowlers then and that wily old fox Phil DeFreitas obliged with three wickets, as did off-spinner Carl Crowe. Tales of a fox and a crow make it sound like a fable, but the Dynamos’ innings was anything but fabulous. In fact it was a grim story as DeFreitas had his wickets in the bag when there were only 26 on the board.Paul Collingwood and Gordon Muchall mounted a stand for the fourth wicket before Collingwood went for 44. Muchall went on to the top score of 48, and Jon Lewis managed 31 but that was just about all there was from the Dynamos.They never looked likely to threaten the Foxes’ score and DeFreitas was not even required to come back to finish his spell. This win eases fears of relegation for the Foxes, while there appears to be no way out for the Dynamos. At least, there is a way out, but it appears to be out of Division One and into Division Two next season.

Writing on Twitter, 7 Gold Sport reporter and Italian journalist Marcello Chirico has dropped a big claim involving Tottenham Hotspur, managing director Fabio Paratici and Euro 2020 star Manuel Locatelli.

The Lowdown: Locatelli shining for Azzurri…

The Sassuolo midfielder has been dazzling at Euro 2020 so far, carrying his club form on to the international stage and leaving little wonder why Champions League finalists Manchester City and Chelsea have been heavily linked.

Indeed, Azzurri boss Roberto Mancini kept Locatelli in the team for Switzerland after starting him during Italy’s opening win over Turkey – with the 23-year-old going on to repay that faith ten times over.

He bagged a sensational brace against the Swiss and put on a commanding display in the middle, earning an 8/10 match rating on WhoScored, completing 90% of his passes and scoring 100% of his attempts on goal.

The Latest: Paratici makes move…

Now, as per Chirico on social media, Tottenham director Paratici wants a slice of the action.

So much so, the 48-year-old transfer guru has ‘already contacted’ Sassuolo chairman and friend Giovanni Carnevali to try and bring him to north London.

“Beware of Paratici : for 2 years at Juventus tried to buy Locatelli (his passion), now he has already contacted his friend Carnevali to try to bring him to Spurs,” explained the verified reporter on Twitter.

“The player gives precedence to Juve , however, it must close quickly with Sassuolo.”

The Verdict: Big claim…

While Locatelli would prefer Juve, this arguably comes as a big development and highlights Paratici’s ambition in the transfer market this summer.

The midfield maestro is debatably one of the most promising ball-playing midfield men in world football and also robust in the challenge.

According to WhoScored, only Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (2.6) and Serge Aurier (2.9) in the Spurs squad averaged more tackles per 90 domestically last year than Locatelli (2.4) – while defender Joe Rodon (1.8) is the only Spurs man to beat him for most interceptions (1.5).

Sassuolo are believed to be demanding around £34 million for his signature this summer, and judging by his start to the Euros, his value could possibly soar even higher.

Spurs face a fight on their hands if they do wish to sign Locatelli, but it would be a truly brilliant coup.

But winning at homeis far removed from success abroad. The selectors know that playing inEngland during early summer will be an entirely different challenge and DeSilva’s experience, gleaned from numerous tours and two seasons with Kent,makes him potentially invaluable.In January he was pulled to one side by Michael Tissera, a former Sri Lankacaptain and newly appointed chairman of selectors. It was the firstcommunication between a selector and De Silva for nearly nine months.Tissera offered him hope of an international recall, but he had to shedweight, return to domestic cricket and prove his fitness.”When the selectors approached me I hadn’t been playing cricket for close toa year,” says De Silva. “It’s no surprise that when you are out of the gamefor that long you put up weight and become a little rusty. مع خروج يونايتد من دوري أبطال أوروبا، ينصب تركيزهم الكامل الآن على احتلال المراكز الأربعة الأولى والتأكد من مشاركتهم في البطولة الموسم المقبل.

لقد تراجعوا وراء آرسنال وتوتنهام، ويعتقد روني أنه يمكن أن يكون أفضل للنادي إذا لم يكونوا في منافسة النخبة في أوروبا.
