علق أحمد شوبير حارس مرمى الأهلي الأسبق على الانتقادات التي وجهها بعض لاعبي الزمالك السابقين بعد تعيين أيمن الرمادي مديرًا فنيًا للقلعة البيضاء خلفًا لـ جوزيه بيسيرو.
وكان مجلس إدارة نادي الزمالك قد أعلن في وقت سابق التعاقد رسميًا مع أيمن الرمادي لتولي المسؤولية الفنية حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري، خلفًا للبرتغالي جوزيه بيسيرو، الذي تم إنهاء التعاقد معه مؤخرًا.
وقال أحمد شوبير في تصريحات إذاعية عبر آثير اون سبورت اف ام: “أمس صرّح البعض بأن أيمن الرمادي ليس من أبناء الزمالك بعد توليه مسؤولية تدريب الفريق، وأنا أسأل هل كان بيسيرو أو جوميز أو كابرال أو فينجادا، أو حتى الكابتن محمود الجوهري من أبناء الزمالك؟”.
وأردف: “هل تم دعم حسن شحاتة، أو حلمي طولان، أو طارق يحيى عند توليهم مسؤولية تدريب الزمالك؟، ومن المفترض أن يدعم أبناء نادي الزمالك أي مدرب يتولى المسؤولية، وألا يُهاجمه”.
وتابع: “أنا شخصيًا ذهبت لزيارة الكابتن محمود الجوهري بعد توليه تدريب الزمالك، وذلك في مقر النادي الأبيض، رغم أني كنت قائد الأهلي وقتها، والجهاز المعاون لأيمن الرمادي، جميع أعضائه من أبناء الزمالك”.
واستطرد: “فهل هذه التصريحات تصدر لأن البعض يشعر بالحزن لعدم وجوده ضمن الطاقم الفني؟ لماذا لا نترك الناس تعمل؟، والزمالك بالموسم الجاري تعاقد مع بيسيرو ولم ينجح، وكذلك جروس”.

وأضاف: “لدينا الكابتن محمود أبو رجيلة، أحد أعظم من قادوا الزمالك للفوز بالبطولات الإفريقية، فأين هو الآن؟، ورغم مرضه، هل يهتم أبناء الزمالك بأمره كما ينبغي؟”.
وواصل: “من المفترض أن يُنقذ الزمالك موسمه في المباريات الأربع المتبقية بالدوري، بالإضافة إلى نهائي الكأس أمام بيراميدز، حتى تسير الأمور بشكل جيد في الفترة المقبلة”.
وأتم: “أيمن الرمادي قال في اجتماعه مع لاعبي الزمالك أمس أنه ليس سعيد بـ مستوى الزمالك وأنه ليس كـ الأجيال السابقة، ومجلس إدارة الزمالك يساندني بشكل قوي وأنا لدي أفكار فنية أسعى لتطبيقها في الفترة المقبلة”.
ويستعد الزمالك لخوض مواجهة قوية أمام سيراميكا كليوباترا، المقرر إقامتها مساء الجمعة المقبل، ضمن الجولة الخامسة من المرحلة النهائية لبطولة الدوري المصري.

Everton made the decision to part ways with Sean Dyche earlier this month and swiftly decided to bring back club legend David Moyes for another spell in the dugout at Goodison Park.
The Scottish head coach is set to see out the final Premier League games at the stadium before the switch to the new one for the 2025/26 campaign, and is tasked with helping the club to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Moyes appeared to be the best candidate on paper as he already knows Everton and the Premier League, and has recent experience in helping a club to push on beyond a relegation battle.

He won the Europa Conference League and competed in the Europa League as manager of West Ham United, before his exit from the London Stadium last summer.
It is now down to the board to back Moyes in the transfer market to ensure that he has the options needed to, firstly, avoid relegation and, then, to fight higher up the table next season.
The January transfer window has been open for business for two weeks now and the Toffees are reportedly eyeing up a striker from one of their Premier League rivals.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Everton are interested in a deal to bring Brighton & Hove Albion centre-forward Evan Ferguson to Goodison Park before the February deadline.
The report claims that the Toffees have made contact with the Seagulls in attempt to sign the Ireland international on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
It states that Everton are vying to secure his services on a temporary basis amid interest from a host of clubs, including West Ham United, Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

However, the report also suggests that Chelsea and Arsenal would be interested in a permanent swoop for the striker and Brighton are only willing to consider a loan deal in the January transfer window.
The report adds, however, that the south coast outfit are yet to give their blessing for the Irish marksman to move on from the club on loan this month because they are concerned about knocks to Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro, which have left them light in the centre-forward position.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s struggles in the striker position contributed significantly to that underperformance, and the England international has consistently let Everton down with his wasteful finishing at the top end of the pitch throughout his time at the club.
Since his return of 16 Premier League goals in 33 appearances during the 2020/21 campaign, the 27-year-old marksman has failed to hit double figures for goals in each of the last four seasons – including the current term.

As you can see in the table above, the English forward has consistently underperformed against his xG during those campaigns, particularly last season, with just seven goals from almost 14 xG.
These statistics show that Calvert-Lewin has been incredibly wasteful for Everton and has let his teammates down by failing to make the most of the high-quality opportunities that they have created for him.
Therefore, the Toffees could significantly improve their attacking output by signing a clinical striker with the quality to take advantage of the chances that they have been putting on a plate for Calvert-Lewin in recent years.
Why Everton should sign Evan Ferguson
This is why a move for Ferguson during the January transfer window could be perfect for Everton because the Irish forward is a ruthless finisher.
Injuries have seemingly prevented the 20-year-old star from kicking on at Brighton, as he was out from April to August last year with an ankle injury, which meant that the forward missed all of pre-season.
The young whiz is also currently out with another ankle issue, and has been since the end of December, and this suggests that it would be a gamble from Everton to sign him, as they run the risk of injuries preventing him from playing regularly.
It could be a risk worth taking, though, as Ferguson, who was hailed as “phenomenal” by teammate James Milner, is miles better than Calvert-Lewin in front of goal and could be a huge upgrade for Moyes at the top end of the pitch.
The Brighton youngster is in his third season of regular football in the Premier League and has consistently shown that he has the quality to more than make the most of the chances that come his way in the final third.

As you can see in the table above, Ferguson has outperformed his expected tally by almost three goals since the start of the 2022/23 campaign, which speaks to his finishing ability at Premier League level.
Whereas, Calvert-Lewin has underperformed his expected tally by 22.94, with 56 goals from 78.94 xG, in the top-flight throughout his time with the Blues so far.
These statistics suggest that Ferguson has significantly more quality in front of goal in comparison to the English striker, which suggests that he would be miles better for the Toffees, given the quality of chances that they can create, and provide Moyes with a centre-forward who can be relied upon in the penalty area.

Last week, it was reported that Sunderland had agreed personal terms with the forward, meaning all that is left to do is finalising a transfer agreement with the Belgian side.
Germanijak reporter Izak Ante Sucic has provided an update about what a deal could look like, taking to X to claim that Westerlo want the Black Cats to be obligated to buy Frigan, regardless of whether they achieve their aim of promotion to the Premier League.
The Belgian Pro League side want the Championship promotion-hopefuls to stump up €15m (£12.6m) if they go up, or around half of that if they remain in the Championship. It is unclear whether Sunderland are willing to agree to a deal of that nature, but talks are currently ongoing.

Signing the Croatian could be considered a risky move for the Black Cats, as it is not a cheap deal, and if he fails to make an impression in the second half of the season, it will be frustrating to be forced to make the move permanent for a fee.
If Le Bris’ side do manage to go all the way and secure promotion, forking out £13m isn’t the end of the world, given the riches that come with playing in the top tier, but it is certainly a gamble.

Having missed out on Ben Brereton Diaz and Tom Cannon, however, Sunderland are a little short of options, so Le Bris may feel signing Frigan is a risk worth taking.

An unbeaten 56 from Kusal Mendis anchored a relatively straightforward chase as SLC Reds secured a seven-wicket victory over SLC Blues to win the SLC Invitational T20 League.The tournament was organised at the eleventh hour, as the economic crisis enveloping Sri Lanka had forced the postponement of the Lanka Premier League. The idea was to allow fringe players to catch the eye of selectors ahead of the Asia Cup, and for those already in the national fold to cement their places.And for Reds, it was the national team stalwarts that produced the goods on the big occasion.Chasing down a modest target of 137, Reds barely broke a sweat, stitching partnerships together with ease, with Reds skipper Mendis a mainstay in each of them. The first was a 49-run opening stand with Lasith Croospulle, followed by partnerships of 19, 33 and 36, with Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Kamindu Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga respectively.It was Hasaranga’s 14-ball 24-run cameo in the end that brought proceedings to a brisk close, as he walloped four boundaries in his brief stint, two of which came in what turned out to be the final over of the game.Praveen Jayawickrama was the pick of an otherwise ineffective Blues attack, picking up figures of 2 for 34.Credit, however, must go to Mendis, who blunted the rest of the attack with timely boundaries and was then content to turn over the strike, with scoreboard pressure a non-issue. Liyanage would account for just 12 of those runs, as Bandara took charge, striking four boundaries in his 30-ball effort.Bandara, the spritely 23-year-old, would remain unbeaten, striking a boundary in each of the final three overs of the innings, but a lack of support at the other end meant only one outcome was ever likely.

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles have managed to climb the Premier League table with a recent upturn in form, finding themselves now 12th in the division, sitting on 27 points after 22 games played, winning six times, drawing nine times and losing seven times.
Since the start of December, Crystal Palace have only lost two games, both of those losses coming against Arsenal, once in the Premier League and once in the EFL Cup.
This run of form has seen draws against the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, and some big wins against the likes of West Ham, Brighton and Leicester.

So, replacing him was always going to be a tricky one, but Ismaila Sarr is beginning to prove his worth.

Once Olise left Palace in the summer, the Eagles went ahead and signed Sarr from Marseille, joining the club for a fee of around £12.5m.
He now is finally starting to settle, having an impact on games and helping the Eagles to get points on the board. Since the 26-year-old signed, he has made 27 appearances, scoring four goals, providing three assists and totalling 1,635 minutes played.

It took until the end of November for Sarr to fully impact games with his output, but since then, the Senegalese winger has shown why Steve Parish and Co struck gold by bringing him to the club. He’s found a real nice balance in attack with Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta, which has seen Glasner’s side go on a good run in the Premier League.
Sarr’s transfer valuation has already risen slightly since joining, with his market value now sitting at £17m according to Transfermarkt.

Labelled a “freak talent” by Ben Foster, who played with the Senegal international at Watford, Foster has previously spoken of how Sarr makes things happen, even if he doesn’t know what he’s going to do, which fits nicely with his direct nature, often looking to attack the box as often as possible, create chances and get shots off when possible. That’s rather similar to Esse who has been lighting up second-tier defences already this term.
Dubbed a “superstar in the making” by Millwall manager, Gary Rowett, the youngster could benefit from challenging Sarr for a starting spot alongside Eze behind the striker, both offering slightly different attributes in that role.
Having Sarr ahead of Esse could allow the young winger to settle at the club with less pressure, not being thrust immediately into the limelight, building up his experience and showing quality with rotated/substitute appearances, which are likely to spark support from the fans with his excellent technical ability.
